Frankston Line (Part 3) Cheltenham to Edithvale

CHELTENHAM. 17/10/2017. Run 94. 13.8km

A double change of plan day. Initially planned to go to Willison but surge pricing for the Uber meant a $40 fee so I swapped to do Mentone. It was only when I got to Mentone that I realised I already did it a couple of weeks ago. Second change of plan meant I first ran from Mentone to Cheltenham and than took selfie and started the official run. Ended up being a nice morning and only a couple of extra kilometres so still got to work on time.

MENTONE. 4/10/2017. Run 90. 13.6km.

Making good use of Ubers to save a bit of time in the mornings. Got to Mentone at 6am and no surge pricing meant it was cost effective. Turned out to be a rubbish run. Not so much the run itself, but because all along that area of the Nepean Hwy were stacks of hard rubbish waiting to be picked up. Can only assume it was a gazetted council rubbish day and many Spring cleaning activities. Easy day and simple directions got me home by 7:15 am.

PARKDALE. 17/4/2017. Run 40. 15.4km

Accepted another generous offer from my wife who was driving to Parkdale to ride. The easiest of logistics to start a run. Got the opportunity to run through some back streets before getting onto Nepean Hwy for the long part of the run. Took a drink which was handy as a bit humid despite the overcast conditions. The 15km runs not too bad so time to look towards the longer stations.

MORDIALLOC. 19/3/2017. Run 30. 17.3km

Took the advantage of Mary racing in Mordialloc today to get an early start. Dropped Mary at her race before 7 am then parked the car where she could find it. Back to Mordialloc station for the obligatory selfie and then back to the car to check legality of park. Headed home and despite it being a warm day I had plenty of drink and early start meant I beat the heat.

ASPENDALE. 7/5/2017. Run 47. 19.5km

Yet another badly planned run. Started Ok by going to Caulfield station with my daughter Camille. I intended to head off towards Dandenong but jumped on Frankston train thinking I could swap at Caulfield. Duh! With Caulfield behind me a googled my options along the Frankston line and landed on Aspendale. An easy route home, mainly along the Nepean Hwy so no direction issues. Some drizzle and cool but home by 1:45pm.

EDITHVALE. 27/8/2017. Run 81. 23.8km

Bit of a gap since last station run due to being away. Came back from Torquay so Mary could do Sandy Point half marathon. I dropped her off at the start and left the car. Then caught Uber to Edithvale station. Ordinary morning weather wise as I ran along the Nepean Hwy before heading towards the beach to join the race. Met the race at corner Balcombe and beach Rd and enjoyed the closed roads and company along that section. Got to Green Point where I lost my friends who were finishing - I still had 4km to get home. Wish I could have finished with them.
