Sandringham Line (Part 1) Richmond to Ripponlea.

RICHMOND. 26/3/2018. 132nd Run.

One of the original stations that I ran in 2016 whilst I was exploring the idea of the “train run”. Decided to run it again as part of the full experience. Originally it was my 3rd run, but I did it again on 26th of March 2018 after work making it officially the 132nd run. Very straight forward run that included up the Punt Rd hill in 2016, so by the rerun in March 2018 I was pretty used to it. Through St Kilda junction and down Barkley St. No need for navigation on this run.

SOUTH YARRA. 14/3/2017. 28th Run.

Another simple run this morning catching the 5:57 am train to South Yarra and easy run home. Probably could have slept in a bit later as home by 7:10 am and plenty of time to get ready for work. Humid conditions as we get towards the end of summer. Ran down Chapel St which seemed pretty quiet at that time of the day.

PRAHRAN. 2/1/2017. 2nd Run.

The first run of 2017 and only the second “official” run of the series. The New Years Day holiday and I planned to go into the city and run back from one of the loop stations. Ran to Elsternwick and train to the city broke down at Prahran. There was a bus organised to get people to the city but I could be bothered waiting so just decided to go home from there. At less than 6 km it was hardly worth the effort but Prahran had to be done at some stage so just banked it.

WINDSOR. 24/3/2017. 32nd Run.

Did the Windsor station as an out and back option given it was only just over 4 km away. This made for simple logistics as Chapel St typically quiet at that time of the morning. But while Chapel St was only just waking up - the station was very full of people going into the city. This made getting a selfie a bit tricky and I got a few strange looks as I snapped myself and then left. Ran home on a slightly different track for variety.

BALACLAVA. 6/8/2017. 77th Run.

Only a short run today despite it being a weekend run as I try to recover from a sore back. Only the second run in last two weeks on advice of physio, but the use of strapping and Nurofen seemed to help a bit. Felt OK when I got to Balaclava so decided to extend the run a bit so came home via the houses in Elsternwick that are part of “The Block” series. Could have run a bit further but it started to rain and I didn’t want to push my luck or my back. Back to the physio on Wednesday.

RIPPONLEA. 31/1/2017. 13th Run.

This was the second part of my only two station run day. Both Gardenvale and Ripponlea are only 2 km from home so decided to do both on the same morning. Started with Gardenvale and after a quick drink break at home, headed off to Ripponlea. For both stations I made sure the return trip was different to the outbound trip. This resulted in a nice figure 8 shaped route - for what that’s worth.
