Back to running in the suburbs where the GPS is pretty accurate. Caught the train to jordanville and left the station heading north. Left onto High St and then onto a track to follow Damper Creek. From there I went west towards the Burwood campus of Deakin University and like the other Unis I have visited - it was quiet. Worked my way back onto Huntingdale Rd and added a small detour to ensure I got the 10 km before getting back to the station. Added a visit to yet another golf course.

Failed first attempt to run my chosen course after realising, whilst on the train, that it wasn’t going all the way to Carrum. Got off and went back to Glenhuntly station and rode my bike back home. Second attempt was to run the only map that allowed me to start and finish at home. And even better, I was able to run past 5 train stations in honour of my first challenge. First Middle Brighton, then North Brighton, Gardenvale, Elsternwick and finally Ripponlea. Only then did I run home. Train reliability is not good during the “big build”.

Cool start again with 2 train trip to get to Mitcham. Despite making sure I knew which way to go from the station, I exited via a different direction and confused myself. Quick reset and finally away. Headed north up Mitcham Rd then east through Nunawading before crossing the Eastern Fwy over a new and impressive footbridge. Best one so far. Followed Koonung Creek to Surrey Rd then south before getting slightly lost in Blackburn Lake Sanctuary. Final kilometer included a detour around a Covid restricted school before getting to Nunawading station for trip home.

Back to a double run day. Slight variation to start as dropped car off for service and caught train from Middle Brighton. Slow change at Richmond but got to Boronia by 10 am. Went west towards the hills to start with a quick detour to Koolunga Native Reserve. Then headed into the area called The Basin, but didn’t really see anything like a basin. Did run past Old Joes Creek Retarding Basin but can’t believe they would name suburb after that. From there I took some back streets to get back to Boronia station for my second run.

South then east from Boronia station and quickly onto Blind Creek path which I was able to follow for a few kilometers. Got to Lewis Park and then went north towards Bayswater. Wasn’t in Bayswater very long before crossing Scoresby Rd and back into Boronia. The Melways claims I went through Studfield. Is that even a suburb? Meandered back through some residential streets, did a lap of Tormore Reserve and then had to loop around a little to get to the 10km. Only had 1 min to get downstairs and catch the next city bound train.

Drove out to Braeside Park for what could be my last challenge run for a while with CoronaVirus restrictions on the agenda again. Wound my way through the north part of Braeside park in a course that looked a bit like my headphones when I take them out of my pocket. Left the park and went north around Kingswood Golf Club and back down Howard Rd before finishing back at the park. Not many people about.
